June 16, 2026 Special Town Meeting GCS Gymnasium - Board of Education VOTE

RE-ELECT KRISTA RIZZO
Board of Education elections are upon us and the Goshen DTC is supporting Krista Rizzo for re-election. Krista has been a representative for Goshen on the Region 20 Board of Education since its inception in 2022. She has actively participated in the community for many years as a member of the DTC, Goshen Together, PTO organizations at her kid's schools, and as a chairperson for youth activities in Woodridge Lake.
As a school board member, Krista has vocally supported students, administration, teachers, staff and our community members. When unexpected fiscal issues came to light two years ago, she was instrumental in helping to get a budget passed by educating the public about the board's decisions regarding future spending. She has created strong relationships with school and town leaders. She took it upon herself to create a podcast for the community, offering a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run a successful school district. As one of the original Region 20 school board members, she has served on various committees, currently chairing the communications committee and serving on the strategic planning and building utilization committees.
Krista isn't afraid to have hard conversations. Region 20 has experienced significant growing pains over the last two years specifically. During that time, Krista made herself available to the community to answer questions, discuss concerns, and help calm the community's fears. She served on the committee that hired our Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Villar and has proudly supported his progress during his 18 months in tenure. This year, the school district had a $1 million dollar surplus - an accomplishment achieved by instituting careful financial spending in several areas. That surplus will allow Region 20 to invest in much needed facilities upgrades throughout our district and add additional parking at Lakeview High School, something our community has requested.
Krista is running for another term because she is committed to continuing the difficult work (and it's a lot of work!) of providing the best education to our kids, the best environment for our staff and the best schools to enhance property values for our taxpayers.
The DTC invites you to come out on Tuesday, June 16th at 7pm in the Goshen Center School gymnasium to cast your vote for Krista. Please share this with your friends and encourage them to get out and vote!
Goshen DTC was founded as an active and enthusiastic group formed to help manage local campaigns for those running for local and state offices. Our committee has an official role in nominating candidates for local elected and appointed positions. We also nominate candidates to represent us in state and federal government.
